Squash, stretch, anticipation, velocity; animating the Nectar expression is always a fun challenge. Below is a series of longer form ads created for video-on-demand streaming services, featuring the Nectar expression in both 2D and 3D realisations.
The Nectar expression is great fun to work with and a real test of character animations skills. It’s not a bouncing ball. It’s liquid, like real nectar.
It shouldn’t have a perfect, smooth movement —
a little bit of wobble and imperfection makes it feel just right.
